Bangladesh is called the land of celebrations, the celebration of fairs and festivals throughout the year even the last day of the months or weeks is celebrated here.

Most of the fairs and festivals are social or religious-based on significant beliefs and rites and continue from time immemorial.

Chaitra Sankranti Fair is one of the oldest fairs in Bangladesh held all over the country to celebrate the last day of Chaitra which is also the last month of Bangla year. It is a Saivite ritual for Hindus who arranged thrilling Charak Puja and Shiva's Gajon at the Shiva Temples.
