This year, World Tourism Day is being celebrated under the theme "Tourism & Rural Development". In the current context of Bangladesh, rural recreation and rural tourism development are essential for poverty alleviation and massive employment generation, boosting the rural economy and transforming villages into cities without destroying the agricultural and rural heritage. We have to establish each village as a single tourist destination. As a result, tourists can visit these villages to create employment opportunities along with financial activities in rural areas.
