Atia Mosque is a 17th-century mosque located at Delduar Upazila under the district of Tangail. The mosque is also known as Atia Jame Moshjid. It was built during the Mughal Empire. According to archaeology department officials and local historians, zamindar Syed Khan Panni received Atia Pargana as a gift from Mughal Emperor Jahangir in the early 17th century, built the mosque in 1609.

The mosque is located about 6 kilometers (3.7 mi) south away from Tangail city. According to an inscription (now preserved in the Bangladesh National Museum), the mosque was constructed between 1610 and 1611 during the reign of Emperor Jahangir by Sayeed Khan Panni, son of Baizid Khan Panni, in honor of Shah Baba Kashmiri. Shah Baba Kashmiri was a prominent Sufi saint of Bengal based in this area. The mosques combine pre-Mughal and Mughal elements.

The mosque has lovely terracotta at the outer side of the east and the north sidewall. Those are very simple with just a few small flowers inside the circles. The mosque has three entrances at the east side, and two entrances at the north and south side each.

This mosque was built during 1610 by Muslim Jomidar Sayeed Khan Panni, son of Baizid Khan Panni. He also dug a large water tank on the western side of the mosque. Local says that the mosque was built for the honor of a saint Shah Baba Kashmiri.

How To Go

First, come to Tangail town. A bus from Mohakhali terminal of Dhaka will take you here.  Ask the bus to drop you at Old bus stand. Bus fare is 120 taka per person. GPS coordinate of Old bus stand is (24°15’4.88″N,89°55’11.44″E).
