Lawachara National Park

If you want to get the taste of a mysterious rain forest, Lawachara is the perfect place to visit. The well-conserved forest offices you ample opportunities for trekking and jungle walking. You will enjoy over 460 different species of birds, mammals, and reptiles that live in this forest. They include deer, wild chickens, squirrels, pythons, endangered hoolock gibbons, capped languors, slow loris birds, snakes, banana spiders, etc. you can enjoy hiking and walking and walking to indulge yourself in the nature close to the wildlife using the numerous trails in the forest.

Lawachara National Park is a major national park and nature reserve in Bangladesh. The park is located at Kamalganj Upazila, Maulvi Bazar District in the northeastern region of the country. It is located within the 2,740 ha (27.4 km2) West Bhanugach Reserved Forest.

Lawachara National Park covers approximately 1,250 ha (12.5 km2) of semi-evergreen forests Biome and mixed deciduous forests Biome. The land was declared a national park by the Bangladesh government on 7 July 1996 under the Wildlife Act of 1974.

 

 

How To Go

 

From Dhaka to Kamalapur or from Airport Railway Station to Srimangal,Moulvibazar Railway Station by Upban, Jayantika, Parabat, or Kalni Express Train.

By bus from Dhaka to Fakirapul or from Saidabad to Hanif Enterprise, Shyamoli Paribahan, Sylhet Express, ENA, etc. by non AC bus to Srimangal,Moulvibazar .

You can go to Srimangal by bus or train from Chittagong. To reach Srimangal, Moulvibazar by train from Chittagong, two trains named Paharika and Udayan Express run 6 days a week.

Lawachara Rain Forest is located 30 km from Moulvibazar district town.
